How to be a better person?

If you ever see someone and wish that you could be more like them, perhaps they are more confident, more well spoken, harder working etc...What we have to remember is that everything in the world is a reflection of ourselves.  If we see something in someone else (good or bad) then it will also be somewhere inside us.

Next time you see a character trait that you like, search deep inside yourself to find it and make a conscious effort to emulate it. In saying this of course, next time you find you are complaining about someone being lazy, a gossip or too critical then find this trait inside you and make a real effort to avoid displaying this for 10 days.

If you can remember each day to try out your new character trait then after 10 days it will almost be a habit.  Likewise if you can consciously control something for 10 days it will soon start to fade on its own.

Personally I have found myself so caught up in making this website a success recently that I have not been paying much attention to what people are saying around me.  I always have my mind elsewhere and give some brief one word response to people which must make them realise that I was not paying attention to them.

I am going to make a real effort to be present, listen and focus on people and then give a carefully considered and timely response.  I think real leaders in life listen to people and make them feel important knowing it is as important, if not more to have people on board rather than just pursuing a goal.
