Get rich with Network Marketing... Don't do it! Start your own system!

I used to phone up every number and visit every website I saw advertising some get rich quick scheme.
The idea is simple, you make commission by selling something but if you recruit people you also get a % of what they sell.  Most people then become so focused on recruiting others they rarely sell anything themselves.

It sounds great to just sit back, let others do the work and let the money roll in.  But can things ever be that great?

MLM systems often do reward the people who got in first and therefore have more chance of getting the most people under them.  They also reward the company or people behind it as they get a fee when people join as well as profit on sales across all recruits.

But how can MLM benefit most people?  It can't, but the principle behind it can.

Using myself as an example, I work hard, add value to a company which generates wealth for shareholders.  I get small reward for doing that, but it will always be less than the shareholders otherwise the shareholders would get nothing and they are the ones that set up and funded the company and they decide the rules.

I then pay my mortgage which helps the banks profit.  They profit as they had money to lend me when I needed it.  If I rent then I am effectively paying my Landlords mortgage or if this is paid off then the rent goes directly to my landlady to spend/invest.

The system rewards those at the top who have money to invest in companies or to lend to banks.  Most people stay at the bottom and help keep those at the top at the top.

If however you can spend a bit less than you earn and invest the difference it will generate a return.  Keep saving and reinvest your profits and those returns will grow.  Eventually you may have enough to stop working (given enough time – stop smoking so you live long enough for it to work).  As soon as your investments generate enough to live on and a bit more to reinvest then you cannot help but continue to get richer (as long as you invested wisely and don't lose too much).

People who are born rich have an advantage as they were always at the top of the system and probably have learned from their parents/grandparents how to invest and keep on top.  But there is no reason to stop any of us from growing those investments and reaching the top.  One day we can be sitting at home with our feet up while the money rolls in.  We don't need to have hundreds of people working under us to achieve this, we just need to have our money working hard for us.

Start your own MLM system where you will always be able to win, you don't need to alienate your friends trying to sell them things they don't want to recruit them and you don't need to ‘fake it until you make it’.  Just spend less than you earn and keep investing the difference.

Stop paying interest, start earning interest!
